SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Social Protection Project to End Poverty
(21 May 2021 – 31 December 2022)
The Royal Government of Cambodia has a long-term vision toward social protection by building a social assistance system that is effective, financially sustainable and inclusive to serve policies aimed at reducing and preventing poverty, vulnerability and inequality through introducing National Social Protection Policy Framework 2016-2025. Within a cooperation framework between the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to develop mechanisms and procedures for piloting the cash transfer program for poor households having valid certificates in Teuk Phos district, Kampong Chhnang province and Rovieng district, Preah Vihear province.
Objective
To pilot to effectively end poverty in the Cambodian context.
Target group
Poor households having equity cards in Rovieng district, Preah Vihear province and Teuk Phos district, Kampong Chhnang province
Terms and conditions and registration:
The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation will prepare a list of households who passed the interviews and the amount of cash support and send it to commune administrations.
The commune administrations must post the lists of families of the beneficiaries received from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation on the information board at the commune halls.
After verifying the name, the beneficiary can go to the nearest Wing counter to pay the allowance. Do not pay allowance on your behalf.
The commune administrations shall then inform the target poor households, whose names are on the list, about the amount of cash support and the cash-payout procedure.
For the first cash payout, poor households who passed for the project and have received notification from the commune administrations must go to verify their names in the lists posted at the commune halls where the family will receive equity cards before going to withdraw the cash at any Wing agents.
Households who have verified their names in the program will receive the following monthly cash support:
